Transition Tips
Transitioning to raw foods

Below is a simple grid that was adapted from Ann Wigmore's wonderful book Recipes For Longer Life.   The advice she gives
has been shortened and worked into a simple table layout in hopes that you can get a quick glimpse of what a raw food transition looks like in a nutshell.  Going from a cooked food meat diet to a raw food diet should not, in my opinion, be attempted unless you prepare yourself for serious detoxification. Shedding toxins over a period of time is much easier on your body and easier on your life.

    Transition Grid
        Phase 1
           Phase 2
         Phase 3
       Actions: Eliminate chemicals
meat, tobacco,
white sugar, white
flour, any processed
foods
Eliminate mucus forming
foods such as dairy. Begin
to replace these foods
with seed and nut mylks.
Eliminate all cooked foods
from your diet. Or if
doing 80% raw, find a
nice medium of
implementing some cooked
foods.
   Mental Outlook:
Don't think that you
are limiting yourself,
think of it as choosing
better foods.
Begin to visualize and
envision yourself as a
profoundly healthy
person.
Become more aware of
the effects and
changes the foods you
eat have on your
system.  For better
or for worse.
      Helpful tips:
Decrease and substitute:
reduce meat consumption
to every other day and
replace it with a white meat
instead of red.
Do a juice fast one day
a week to expedite toxin
elimination.
Transition could take months
or only a few days. It's your
decision. do what
feels right for yourself.
